Anthropic reportedly pushes its IPO to mid-November, still chasing a $2 trillion valuation
The AI company is said to be eyeing a pre-Thanksgiving listing after earlier targeting October — a debut that size would rank among the largest ever.
Anthropic is reportedly retargeting its IPO window to mid-November, ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, after earlier aiming for an October debut, according to a Bloomberg report published October 1. The company is said to still be eyeing a valuation in the neighborhood of $2 trillion — a number that would put it among the largest public debuts in history, AI company or otherwise.
What $2 trillion actually means
For context: Saudi Aramco's 2019 listing, long considered the biggest IPO ever by valuation, priced the oil giant at roughly $1.7 trillion. If Anthropic's number holds anywhere close to $2 trillion, it wouldn't just be a big tech IPO — it would be the biggest IPO, full stop, for a company that didn't exist a decade ago.
Bloomberg's report doesn't detail why the timeline shifted from October to November — companies move IPO windows for all kinds of reasons, from market conditions to internal readiness, and Anthropic hasn't commented publicly. What's notable is that the valuation target hasn't moved with it. A slipping date usually comes with a trimmed number; this one, reportedly, hasn't.
If it holds, Anthropic would go public as one of the most closely watched AI companies in the world, at a valuation that assumes the AI boom isn't just continuing — it's still accelerating.
