Inside the quiet comeback of physical buttons

After a decade of touchscreens-for-everything, hardware controls are creeping back.

The touchscreen-everything era had a clear logic: fewer moving parts, cheaper manufacturing, more flexible software. It also had a clear cost — you can't feel a touchscreen button without looking at it, which is a real problem at 70 miles an hour.
